Most church leaders today would say of their churches, “Yeah, we’re just like a family.” But few churches are much like “family” let alone consistently able to produce mature Christians whose passion is for Jesus. So I stop and wonder. If ‘family’ is the word most often used to describe the love and community that we know the Bible calls our church experience to walk in, why wouldn’t family be the place where you have your church? Join one family as they face the heartbreak of leaving the institutional church, yet find victory and intimacy in Jesus through “family churching” – meeting together daily or nearly daily to seek God in their own home.
